About Us
We are an independent think tank dedicated to strengthening Africa's working class movements and advancing social justice through research, activism, and movement building.

Our View of the World
At AfCLAD, we believe that true meaningful people-centred change comes from robust and well-organised movements supported by innovative ideas and strategic action. In Africa, and much of the Global South we face a similar challenge. Social movements, while often led by admirable courageous leadership and strong ideals, we frequently lack the institutional support necessary for long-term impact.
Our Work
We aim to fill this gap by offering resources and expertise in policy research and analysis, developing alternative policy solutions and offering technical support in grassroots organising and mobilising, coalition building, and strategic advocacy campaigns.
Who We Work With
While some of the largest and most powerful associations of working class power on the continent are trade unions, our work is rooted in the labour movement but also goes beyond traditional trade unions to include collaboration with activist groups, grassroots communities, and political actors who share a vision for equitable development and justice.
